On April 18th, the Campbellsville Eagles baseball team traveled to Bardstown to play for the fifth Region All A title. To become champions, Campbellsville had to play until three in the morning, Saturday, in a double header.
The first match up was between the Eagles and the Green County Dragons that saw CHS edge out the Dragons 8-7. Eagle pitcher Taylor Levi came on in relief in the second inning to finish the game for the win. Levi had 4 strikeouts and gave up 1 run on 4 hits.
The late night matchup was between Campbellsville and Bethlehem. The Eagles won the slugfest 19-14 and Blake Milby picked up the win in relief. Milby threw 4 innings, struck out 4, and gave up 1 earned run.
Campbellsville traveled to play Louisville Holy Cross (9-5) in the All A Sectional to represent the Fifth Region Thursday night. Campbellsville lost in a hard fought game 2-5 after giving up 4 runs in the fourth.
